Event schedule

This is the preliminary schedule for the 2017 event weekend - there may be some minor changes prior to race day.

Race Locations

The race operations are centred around 2 different locations, both being no more than 700m apart (easy walking distance)

Event expo, registration, T2 & T3 and finish line
The event centre will be located on the 18th fairway on the Dunsborough Country Club. This is immediately adjacent the Country Club buildings and lawn bowls area. We will have our own, consolidated event expo like we did in 2016 but it will be on the 18th fairway which is closer to the start and closer to the Country Club's cafe, toilets and showers.

Race start and T1
The start for the Long course, Short course and Kids’ X-Adventure races will be at the Old Dunsborough Boat Ramp, at the end of Bay View Crescent. This will be the same start area as in 2016.

 

Race registration

All participants must have your registration kit prior to your race start. Competitors do not necessarily need to collect their own registration kit in person. Friends, team mates and family members can collect your items on your behalf. BUT:

  • All individuals, all team swimmers and all team runners must attend the Registration Marquee to have your race number written on your arm and leg.

The Event Registration Marquee will be located in the event expo on the 18th fairway at the Dunsborough Country Club. Please ensure you collect your items at the appropriate times according to the schedule below.

  • Groms X-Adventure registration kit collection - Saturday 2:00pm - 4:00pm
  • Kids X-Adventure registration kit collection - Saturday 12:00pm - 2:00pm
  • Short course X-Adventure registration kit collection - Saturday 8:00am – 10:00am
  • Long course X-Adventure registration kit collection - Saturday 3:00pm – 5:00pm AND Sunday 6:30am – 7:00am - by prior appointment only

Competitor briefing

A short competitor briefing will be held 10 minutes before the start of each race. This briefing will be at the start line and consist of essential, last minute information only. Please make sure you have thoroughly read this event program prior to the start as this contains all the info you need to know.

Race start

The Long Course and Short Course swim starts:

  • Single mass start for all competitors in deep water (not on the boat ramp as it was in 2016)
  • This will be a deep water start, with a 60m wide start line to allow space for all swimmers and will be far 'friendlier' than in 2016.
  • The deep water start will be located just off from the Old Dunsborough boat ramp at the end of Finlayson Street

The Kids X-Adventure race starts:

  • 2 wave starts for kids of different ages
  • Starting adjacent the Old Dunsborough boat ramp at the end of Finlayson Street. The entire swim will be inside the shark proof beach enclosure.

Both start locations are just 500m from the Dunsborough Country Club.

Groms’ X-Adventure race start:

  • Adjacent the transition area in the Dunsborough Country Club

The following event components are located at the Dunsborough Country Club on the 18th fairway in the Event Expo :

  • Kids’ entertainment

Optional personal accident insurance

Optional personal accident insurance can be purchased throughout the entry process or added as an additional item via logging into your entry prior to the event for a total of $15 per person and $49.95 for a team.
