Malbunka (Long Course) entry fees

Four-Stage Runner - If you enter all 4 of The Malbunka stages the entry fees are as follows: 

  • Base Entry Fee: $733 if you enter before 8:00am AEST Monday 10 July
  • Late Entry Fee: $778 if you enter between 08:00am AEST Monday 10 July and 08:00am Tuesday 8 July

Single-Stage Runner - if you enter only 1, 2 or 3 of The Malbunka stages (as single stages)  the entry fees are as follows:

  • Late entry fee: $623 if you enter between 08:00am AEST Monday 10 July and 08:00am Tuesday 8 July

Single-Stage Runner - if you enter only 1, 2 or 3 of The Malbunka stages (as single stages) the entry fees are as follows:

GROUP ENTRIES

Run Larapinta is the ideal event to attend with a bunch of trail running buddies as a social adventure together. We welcome all groups with open arms and provide DISCOUNTED ENTRY for groups over certain sizes. 

If you bring along 5 or more entrants we are happy to arrange an individual discount for you - offered as cash back at race registration.

15% DISCOUNT FOR LOCALS

Local Alice Springs runners can enjoy a 15% discount on your entry fees into any or all stages of the event, provided that you are:

  • a permanent resident of Alice Springs
  • enter any stage in the race before Wednesday 2nd August, 2017

How do I arrange this?

  • Enter online normally and pay the full entry fee
  • Answer 'yes' to Locals Discount during the registration process

We will then give you your 15% entry fee discount back as cash when you register upon presentation of your proof of address in Alice Springs - like a diver's license with your address on it). If you have any queries please email info@rapidascent.com.au.

ULTRA168 SUPPORTERS

Ultra168 Supporters will receive 15% off their race entry, payable as cash back at registration.

Monash University Ultra Endurance Research - BASE Essentials

Base Esentials

Monash University researchers are looking for runners to taste test a newly formulated dehydrated meal range during Run larapinta 2017.

Exercise physiology and sports dietetic researchers from Monash University, Department of Nutrition Dietetics & Food, will be testing a newly formulated dehydrated meal range, at this year’s Run Larapinta. The range of quick to prepare and tasty meals are aimed at supporting the energy and nutritional requirements of ultra-endurance athletes during multi-day events. The researchers are looking to recruit a group of runners who wish to volunteer to taste test the meal range along the Run Larapinta multi-stage event. Runners will be free to consume any foods and beverages ad libitum, and integrate the provided meals within normal dietary habits. Runners who choose to consume solely their own foods and beverages ad libitum can still take part in the research.

What does participation in this research involve?

Before the start of Run Larapinta:

  • Complete a pre-event questionnaire that will include a food-fluid diary indicating your intended intake during Run Larapinta.
  • Have your body composition analysed.
  • Have your hydration status analysed.

 During Run Larapinta:

  • Wear a small SenseWear monitor on your triceps that will record your energy expenditure along the event.
  • Complete a food-fluid diary, which will include a symptom and meal sensory log.
  • Consume the provided meals (where applicable), alongside your normal food/fluid intake choices.

 At the finish of Run Larapinta:

  • Have your body composition analysed.
  • Have your hydration status analysed.

 

Benefits of participating:

  • You will be provided with a range of specialised dehydrated meals (x4 meals per day, where applicable).
  • Participants that complete all elements of the research will be offered a gift voucher to the value of $100.
  • As part of the research, participants will be provided with a full body composition, nutritional and hydration report.
  • By taking part in this study you will also gain an insight into how your body responds to a multi-stage ultra-marathon, which may provide valuable information that can be used in future multi-day events.

GPS TRACKERS: inReach 2-Way Satellite Communicator
FOR HIRE for $75

We have arranged for satellite communicators to be available for runners to hire for your added safety whilst participating in the Run Larapinta Stage Race.

Whilst we will have manned checkpoints with medics on site and will provide a high level of care and supervision of all competitors, due to the remoteness of the course we cannot be everywhere at once (far from it). So if you are particularly safety conscious, want an added safety net or want your family and friends to know where you are we recommend hiring a

TRANSFERS

AIRPORT TRANSFERS are availble for purchase for $15 per person per transfer.

RACE TRANSFERS
are available for $150 per person, these include all transfer to/from the race start/finish lines as well as a transfer back to the airport from Glen Helen on Tuesday.

You can purchase transfers via the event regsitration system. If you have already registered but would like to make a transfer booking, please email info@rapidascent.com.au. More information around transfers is available HERE

All AIRPORT TRANSFERS AND RACE TRANSFER bookings must be made by Friday 21st July. Aiport transfer bookings made after this date must be made directly with the transfer company of your choice. Please email info@rapidascent.com.au or call our office on (03) 5261 5511 if you have any questions.

ENTRY AND REFUND POLICY

If a competitor voluntarily withdraws from the event prior to 8:00am AEST Friday 21st July, 2017 they have the option of:

  • Refund less a 25% administration fee (Minimum $10, Maximum $100)
  • Rapid Ascent credit for another event entry less a 20% administration fee

If a competitor voluntarily withdraws from the event after 8:00am AEST Friday 21st July, 2017:

  • No cash refund or credit will be issued. This will be strictly enforced as costs for your entry have already being incurred.

Other:

  • Payment for online entries is via Credit Card transaction via our secure, 128-bit encrypted credit card payment gateway. Should you require alternative payment options please contact Rapid Ascent
  • An individual or team may transfer their entry to another individual for a $15 transfer up to 08:00am AEST Tuesday 8 July 2017. No transfers after this date. 
  • Providing there are spaces available, a runner may transfer from a higher entry fee event (eg long course event) to a lower entry fee event (eg short course) up to 8:00am AEST Tuesday 8 July 2017. In this case, the difference between the two entry fees will not be refunded.
  • Providing there are spaces available, a runner may transfer from a lower entry fee event (eg short course) to a higher entry fee event (eg long course) up to 8:00am AEST Tuesday 8 July 2017 for the cost of the increase in entry fee only – no admin fee will be charged.
  • If the event is deemed unsafe or unable to be held on the proposed date due to extreme climatic conditions, the following steps shall be followed:
  • Rapid Ascent will endeavour to reschedule the event to another date with all entries carrying over to the new date
  • If you are unable to attend the newly proposed date no refunds will be made
  • If the event cannot be rescheduled for any reason, Rapid Ascent will offer a full refund OR offer participants an entry credit (of the same value) to a future Rapid Ascent event.

Note:

  • In all other circumstances it should be assumed that the event is still going ahead UNLESS otherwise stated
  • Rapid Ascent reserves the right to alter or amend the originally proposed course(s) from that which was published on the event website for any reason
  • Advice of any event postponement or change will be made on the front page of the event website as early as possible before the event, and will be posted to the official race notice board at the registration marquee.
