Can I enter on the day?
Yes, there will be entries taken on the day at the start line between 6.00am and 7.00am. Entry fees will be more expensive, please see our registration page for details (we do encourage you to enter via the website before November 5th).
What happens if I enter and / or collect my race pack and then don’t do the event?
Never fear! You don’t need to notify the organisers if you are unable to participate on the day. Your number plate and timing tag is disposable so you don’t need to return them to us. Unfortunately you can’t transfer your number plate to another person to use.
Will a race information pack be sent to me before the event?
NO. All entrants (other than Virtual Runners) must collect your race pack (including your event t-shirt and number plate) from our collection centre during the times listed on the schedule before the event. We will not be posting any items out (other than to Virtual Runners).
What if I lose my race number?
If you lose your race number between when you collect it and the start of the race, don’t worry! Feel free to contact us at [email protected] and we’ll arrange a replacement for you.
I'm interested in registering my school to run in the race, how do I register?
Great! We love having schools at the Run. Select the School you are from in the drop down box when entering and we’ll award a great prize to the school with the most students.
I booked the wrong event or want to change my event - how can I change my ticket?
Yes – in most cases! Changes to different events for the same ticket type are permitted, so Adult 10km to Adult 5km would be fine. Contact our team via the Contact Us page and we will sort you out.

Do toddlers still get a T-shirt?
Yes, sure do!
How much is the T-shirt?
The T-shirt is FREE and included in your registration. You cannot buy them separately.
Do I need to bring my ticket when I come to race pack collection?
Yes, your ticket is your entry to the event, please bring out a printed copy on the day OR you can use the QR code on your smart phone and we can scan in your ticket.
I can’t find the email with my ticket?
Search for "Run for Geelong’s Kids" in your inbox and check your Spam folder. If you still can't find it, use the Contact Us page to let us know and we will resend for you.
How do I use a promo code?
When choosing a ticket you will see a link to at the top of the form to “Enter code here”.
General Event Information
Are there cut off times?
There sure are! All events need to be completed with roads open to traffic again at 10:15am, therefore the below cut off times will be in place:
Can I walk the 10km?
Yes, you can walk the 10km event, however this isn’t something we recommend! The same time cut offs will still apply, meaning you will need to be able to walk at approx 5km/per hour for 2 hours.
What weather can I expect for the event?
The normal daily temperature ranges for Geelong during November are: November Max 22C Min 11C. However! Please make sure you check out the forecast a little closer to the event in order to dress appropriately.
Can I volunteer?
Yes, we love volunteers. Please head to our website to register your interest.
Can I come and watch without paying?
Yes, of course all the more are welcome to come along and support your friends and family and join them for festivities within the Event Centre.
Prior to Race Day
Can I use my iPod/MP3 Player on course?
We encourage you guys not to wear headphones and listen to music on the day for a couple of reasons. Aside from it being a bit unsafe, we don’t want you missing out on all the amazing atmosphere of the events, or any of our great course entertainment along the way!
Can I bring my dog or other pet to run/walk with me?
Unfortunately for safety reasons, animals aren’t permitted on the course. No running, walking or crawling for Lassie … sorry!
Can I ride my bike alongside a friend who is running?
No. For safety reasons, bikes, skateboards and rollerblades are not permitted on the course.
Can I push a pram in the event?
Prams and wheelchairs are the only wheels we can allow on the course. Therefore, bikes, skateboards and rollerblades will have to wait for another day!
I have a toddler, do they have to pay?
Kids under 2 years do need to register but their entry is FREE
What should I wear?
- Runners - comfy running gear and shoes suited to running on road surfaces come highly recommended! We recommend that you wear clothing that you’ve trained in before, and are confident that it won’t cause you any problems. All the more reason to do all your training in your Run for Geelong’s Kids event tee!
- Walkers - wear something comfy that will carry you through your 5km event.
Checklist for event day... don’t leave home without the following bits and pieces!
- Running / walking shoes
- Running / walking clothing
- Warm clothes to change into (rain jacket if required)
- A bag to put your clothing in if you intend to use the bag storage area
- Race number plate (bib).
- Money for post-event refreshments & snacks
- Event info ... that way you’ll know where to go, where to park and all that fun stuff!
What time do I need to be at the Start Line on Western Beach Road on race morning?
We encourage everyone to arrive at least 45 minutes prior to your event to ensure you have plenty of time to get organised before your event; not to mention taking part in the warm up!
We’re hoping Run for Geelong’s Kids will be huge, so remember that there may be a short wait when dropping off clothes, using toilets or accessing event info. Be patient, be kind to each other and it will all happen eventually!
Where can I leave my bag?
There will be a designated area for you to leave your bags on event day. If all of your belongings are in a closed bag that is clearly marked with your race number, then feel free to drop it off at the bag security area and we’ll take good care of it! Remember not to leave valuables in your bag.
Will there be a warm up?
Yes! And we’re excited about it! There will be an aerobics warm up in the event centre 20minutes before the start of each event
Will I be timed during my event?
The 10km run and 5km run will be timed, the 5km TAC Family Walk and 1km Kids’ Run will not be timed.
What time does my event start?
The 10km run will start at 8:00am, the 5km run at 8:30am, the 5km walk at 8:45am and the Kids 1km run at 10:15am.
What time does the event village close?
The event village will close by 11am
Will there be food and drink available
Yes, food and drinks will be available throughout the day in the Event Village

Where can I find my results?
The official results will also available on the Run for Geelong's Kids website in the few days following the event.
What roads will be closed?
There will be significant road closures in and around Geelong’s CBD on the morning of Sunday November 18th, so make sure you allow plenty of time to get to the start line. We recommend using public transport wherever possible or car pooling to the event, however there will only be limited car parking. Make sure you plan your route including where you’re going to park before leaving the house!
