Event functions

A range of event functions will be held over the Mountain Raid weekend. These dinner functions will be on a ‘user pays’ basis and not included in your entry free – although they will be fun and well worth attending! (draft schedule only - some minor changes prior to race weekend):

Pre Race Pasta Dinner - open to all

  • Falls Creek Country Club Restaurant
  • Friday 12 February
  • 6:30pm-8:00pm
  • Tickets $25 per person
  • Includes a buffet with a choice of pasta, sauces, salads and bread.
  • Purchase your dinner tickets here

The Adventure Race competitor briefing will take place soon after dinner, in the same location.

Mid-Race Dinner (optional) - open to all

  • The Last Hoot (located at 9 Slalom St)
  • Saturday 13 February
  • Officially commences at 7:00pm (after presentations) however meals available from 5:30pm
  • Serving a range of contemporary Australian foods and have a dish to suit all budgets and tastes
  • Bookings not required; just rock up

A great way to get together and celebrate the middle of the event! We will display event results, mid event presentations (1 Day) and have a number of spot prizes on offer!

Post-Race BBQ on Sunday

Celebrate your accomplishments over race weekend by joining us for a BBQ at the finish line in Slalom Plaza on Sunday afternoon.

All Adventure Race 2-Day competitors will receive a free BBQ as part of their entry.

Adventure Race competitor registration and briefing

All competitors in either the Adventure Race and / or the Trail Runs must complete registration during the times listed above. At race registration you will receive your race number plates / bibs, and other race information.

Adventure Race Competitor Registration

It is essential that all Adventure Race team members attend registration to sign the event wavier. [Alternately team members can download and sign the waiver from here prior to the race and the team captain can present these signed waivers to collect their team’s items.] 

At Registration you and your team will receive:

  • Event merchandise
  • MTB Plates
  • Boat Stickers
  • Race Bibs (this must be returned at the end of the event)
  • Adventure Race Competitor Briefing

It is compulsory for all teams to attend the competitor briefing!

Where: Falls Creek Country Club on the High Plains Rd (about 300m downhill from QT)
When: 8:00pm on Friday evening (12 February)
What you’ll receive: Teams will receive the Course Maps and Handbooks

At the briefing we will provide the specific instructions to all teams including handing out your maps and handbooks that detail the course.

The maps for Sunday’s racing (Day 2) will be distributed from the finish line once you complete Saturday's race .

Waterproof your maps! Be advised that you will be given up to 10 different A$ and A3 sized maps so if you intend on "contacting" (adhesive waterproof clear plastic) them to make them water proof, then make sure you bring enough contact with you.

Number plates and timing tags

All competitors are required to wear a race number plate in the race (provided by us!). Safety pin your unique number plate to the front of the shirt you wear during the run so it is easily visible

Number plate postage

Entries received prior to Tuesday 2nd February 8:00am will have their race plate posted in the mail.

Please note, this applies to Victorian residents and entrants over the age of 18. Junior entrants will be required to attend registration at the event with a parent/guardian to sign the indemnity form.

Number plate collection

Entries received after Tuesday 2nd February, your number plate will be available for collection at the event during the following times at Race Registration:

  • Saturday 13th February 9:00am – 9:30am / 3:00pm – 3:30pm
  • Sunday 14th February 7:30am – 8:00am

Entries will be accepted on the day if you have any friends who have not entered yet.

Competitor briefing 

There will be a short briefing for all competitors in Slalom Plaza (the start line) 10 minutes before the start of each race.

The start

Event start line: In the start / finish chute in Slalom Plaza in Falls Creek. Each race will commence with a mass start.

Additional points about the start:

  • Irrespective of which event you are in, we encourage all runners to be realistic about your speed and place yourself in the line up for the start accordingly – with fast runners at the front of the chute and slower runners at the back of the chute
  • We will have a timing mat at the actual start line so your race time will be recorded from when you actually cross the start line, not (necessarily) when the gun goes.
