Grab your girlfriends for an adventure weekend
Welcome to our Female Focus page, designed to provide encouragement, inspiration and support for women to get into adventure racing and trail running, for a fantastic weekend away at Falls Creek.
New to trail running and / or adventure racing? That's okay. There are some great introductory course options available - such as the one-day adventure race, short course adventure race and shorter trail runs - and we can offer plenty of advice and support:
2015 Female participant comments
“We loved every minute of it, especially the views. Physically it’s a real test of endurance and mental strength but it was really fun,”
– Team The Trotting Chicks Mark II (all female adventure race team)
“There was great camaraderie between the teams and we feel 100% satisfaction in finishing the event. It was awesome and we’re definitely booking in for next year. Loved it”
– Team Star FM
“Love the trails. The area is so beautiful. You don't often get a chance to race in such a lovely area. It is achievable for a range of fitness levels. I would like to visit more often to run/hike and paddle.”
– Sarah Pearce (Trail Run)
“I had never done a trail run before so it was something new. Also the location is beautiful! It was also a small amount of people which made it very social which was nice.”
– Stef Luxford (Trail Run)
Training sessions and groups
There is nothing like meeting a few new and old friends to go training together (followed by a coffee) and we also know that women like to train with each other in a friendly, non-competitive environment as it’s all a bit more fun.
Below is a list of female friendly groups we know about (and we’ll keep updating as we hear about more). If you know of any groups, please let us know so we can continue to build the resource and network. Email [email protected] or call 03 5261 5511.
